We found that students who were perceived as more likeable sat in the middle column of the classroom and were seated close to each other. Locations inhabited by dominant students were positioned further from teachers and further apart from each other. The increase of the values of degree centrality, closeness centrality, and eigenvector centrality was noticeable in desks positioned further away from the teacher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/tomaslintner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/aggregate-likeability-1024x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-63\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tomaslintner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/aggregate-likeability-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/tomaslintner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/aggregate-likeability-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/tomaslintner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/aggregate-likeability-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/tomaslintner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/aggregate-likeability-768x768.jpg 768w, https:\/\/tomaslintner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/aggregate-likeability-1536x1536.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/tomaslintner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/aggregate-likeability-2048x2048.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>By comparing these results with studies examining seating arrangements as a means of distributing learning opportunities through student participation, specific zones can be observed in the classroom that could benefit the children seated there in their roles as students and at the same time in their roles as classmates. <strong>In other words, teachers can potentially influence both social status of students among their classmates and their school engagement by seating them in specific locations.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"http:\/\/dx.doi.org\/10.5817\/SP2021-2-3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>read the full article here<\/strong><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u275dSeating positions in classrooms are related to social status.\u275e How do seating positions of students relate to their position in social networks?
